The Cox Technic 50% rule guides the frequency of your visits:
- At each point that you demonstrate 50% relief of pain (objectively and subjectively -- mind you it may come within the first visit or two), your treatment sessions are halved. (ex: If you are seen daily, you would be seen once every two days.)
LOW BACK PAIN VISIT FREQUENCY
In the 1000 low back pain cases study with Cox Technic protocols, the mean number of days is 29 and number of visits is 12. However, some conditions do require more days and visits. (1)
You may wonder why the "number of days" statistics are split at 90 days. If you re-call the "pain" discussion, at 90 days pain becomes "chronic." Chronic pain is very disturbing to your life so being able to stop pain before it reaches this stage is preferable.
CERVICAL SPINE PAIN VISIT FREQUENCY
In a retrospective study of 39 cervical spine pain patient cases treated with Cox Technic, the mean number of treatments was 13 with a range of 6 to 37 visits for various patients. (2)
POST PAIN VISIT FREQUENCY
When you realize that you have less or no more pain in a few days or visits, you get to choose your continued course of care. You may decide to continue your care every few weeks with us so that we can check your range of motion, realign your spine and drop intradiscal pressures to keep your healing on track. You may decide to stop in-office care and just continue the at-home care enthusiastically. You may decide to stop all care with the knowledge that you can come back for care if and when the pain starts again. Whatever you choose as best for your health is your choice. Our goal remains to help you regain the quality of life you want.
