In the world of
supplements, chondroitin sulfate is recognized for its
care of cartilage and disc in Toronto back pain.
Its reputation continues to evolve in influence
on specific spinal issues from cancer to knee osteoarthritis
to cells and nerves. Recent research positively
affects diabetes and its
related osteoporosis and inflammation. Yorkville Chiropractic and Wellness Centre
shares these new studies to assist our
Toronto chiropractic back pain as well as diabetic patients.
CHONDROITIN SULFATE: Diabetes and Inflammation
Chondroitin sulfate is a powerhouse potential
for diabetes in addition to disc nutrition. It’s reported that it can
reduce blood glucose and reduce symptoms
associated with diabetes. In new studies, it
alleviated diabetic osteoporosis and repaired
the microstructure of bone due to its anti-oxidative,
anti-inflammatory, and bone metabolism-regulating properties in
diabetic rats. The research studies keep coming! A recent report states that these outcomes were
attained after 10 weeks of consuming chondroitin
sulfate, and serum inflammatory cytokines (TNF-A, IL-1, IL-6, MCP-1)
decreased. (1) Part of the chiropractic treatment plan at
Yorkville Chiropractic and Wellness Centre is nutrition. The use of chondroitin
sulfate is providing benefit that Toronto chiropractic
patients may appreciate.
CHONDROITIN SULFATE: Diabetic Osteoporosis
In another trial of oral chondroitin sulfate and
whether it has anti-diabetic properties, chondroitin sulfate was
taken for 8 weeks. Preventive properties were
demonstrated. It improved the symptoms of
diabetes by increasing body weight, reducing
water or food intake, lowering blood glucose,
raising bone mineral density (BMD), repairing bone morphology
and decreasing femoral osteoclasts. These benefits
prompted the researchers to write that chondroitin sulfate
could avert diabetic osteoporosis through the decrease of blood glucose along with
antioxidative stress, anti-inflammation, and regulation of serum levels of
OPG/RANKL. In summary, they wrote that
chondroitin sulfate can effectively prevent bone loss
brought on by diabetes. (2) Yorkville Chiropractic and Wellness Centre
presents this research as a hopeful option for our
Toronto chiropractic patients with osteoporosis.
