“Do I have to exercise?”
“Only exercise if you want to feel
better quicker and prevent pain,“ your Toronto
chiropractic encourages.
“How much time do I have to spend exercising every day?”
“Not long, just effectively,” Yorkville Chiropractic and Wellness Centre
advises.
Exercise is not every Toronto back pain or neck
pain patient’s ‘cup of tea’. Yorkville Chiropractic and Wellness Centre understands.
Exercise is also so key to our back and neck pain
patient’s recovery and future prevention of the pain. We are with our Toronto
chiropractic patients all along the way to make
the most of the exercise effort so that it results in pain relief and prevention.
OPTIMAL NECK PAIN EXERCISE GUIDES
Neck pain sufferers understand how pain
may decrease their ability to look around
comfortably. Such neck pain patients were tested for
their cervical range of motion and pain intensity with a flexion-rotation test.
They were then directed to do a 20-minutes cervical spine
exercise session. 50% of them were then also
treated with manual therapy applied to the C0-C1 and C2-C3 cervical spine
levels. Those who performed the exercise program and were treated managed significantly
better in terms of range of motion, pain intensity reduction,
and the flexion-rotation test. (1) Another study reported
that the optimal stretching time of cervical muscles in patients with chronic
myofascial pain syndrome was 30 seconds as contrasted with 15
or 60 seconds or no stretching. This permitted the best
benefit to pain intensity decrease while diminishing
any adverse effects on neural function of the affected
nerve roots and central nervous system. (2) Yorkville Chiropractic and Wellness Centre always highlights
that the appropriate exercise done in proper form doesn’t have to take long to be effective!
Additionally, exercise puts some control in the
hands of its sufferer since exercise can be done whenever.
OPTIMAL LOW BACK PAIN EXERCISE GUIDES
Incorporating exercise training into the
multidisciplinary treatment of non-specific chronic low back pain does make
sense. Such back pain impacts so many
people globally and is a primary
cause of disability. Proper exercise training transitions the back
pain sufferer to self-management. Recently, researchers proposed
that pain intensity and disability - and even mental health issues
in such back pain patients - were improved with choices
like resistance and aerobic exercise while Pilates, resistance exercise, yoga,
and stabilization exercise. (3) Yorkville Chiropractic and Wellness Centre agrees! Exercise is invaluable
on so many fronts.
