CHRONIC BACK PAIN RELIEF WITH CHIROPRACTIC
Chronic back pain drives many sufferers to their doctors for help. Chronic back pain’s impact
on the sufferer and his/her “default mode network” of living often has
something to do the years lived with pain: the longer the pain stage
the more influence the pain has on the patient and his/her
cognitive pain coping attitude. (1) Not shocking, but it’s
now published and will certainly
be analyzed more. It’s also known that lumbar
spinal stenosis patients vary in their symptom severity and improvement
track from “improving” to “fluctuating/improving” to “persistent.” (2)
Back pain is truly a unique journey, one your
chiropractor travels by your side as chiropractic care’s
spinal manipulation tops clinical practice guidelines’ lists
of noninvasive, non-drug pain therapies. (3) In point of
published fact, non-surgical, conservative care options lead
treatment recommendations lists. Spinal manipulation, chiropractic’s forte, is
a leading recommendation in many treatment recommendation lists
by groups like the American College of Physicians and the American Pain
Society. (4) Using chiropractic care and such methods as mindfulness
- which has been shown to improve pain-related functions - may be quite
beneficial for you. (5)

Toronto CHIROPRACTIC TIP OF THE MONTH: Consider Peppermint
Oil: A Relaxing Boost!
We all may be in need of a boost occasionally. The past few stressful years
are catching up with us. Whether you are tired or healing,
peppermint may put some pep into your system. A recent
study shared that inhalation of peppermint post-back-surgery
decreased patients’ anxiety and pain levels. (6) Another
study found that peppermint oil inhalation reduced
cardiac surgery patients’ post-op nausea. (7) Adding peppermint oil to a
footbath for adolescents with primary headache disorder showed that
both the control and participant groups had a significant reduction
in headache pain and decrease in anxiety over time with no adverse events.
95.6% of the participants liked and recommended this! (8) Time
for some relaxation? Peppermint oil may be a
helper!
